"...academic context that I was writing in/for."

Hi all. Happy New Year!

This stems from another post and I was just wondering would these two versions convey the same meaning? What I was trying to say was that this particular way of writing was what I was looking for in writing this response to the essay question.

...this is what I wanted to achieve in the academic context that I was writing in.

...this is what I wanted to achieve in the academic context that I was writing for.

Thank you

"in the context I was writing in" can surely be better written.

In the academic context of my writing -- one way.
