"Your landlady as good enough to allow you to keep a small dog, so you shouldn't abuse her goodwill by having a large dog."

"Your landlady was / is good enough to allow you to keep a small dog, so you shouldn't abuse her good nature by having a large one."

I prefer to say her good nature.
