Abstract - tenses question

In abstract to the research paper, there is a short description in the Past Tense. Then there follows a sentence in the Present Perfect. Is it correct?

Here is an example:
A new module was designed, constructed and tested. The results were written down. And some other sentences in the Past Tense.

And then this sentence:

The investigation has been performed at the Institute for XXX Research.

Should it also be in the Past Tense "the investigation was performed" or Present Perfect is ok considering the fact that there are two paragraphs in the abstract: the first paragraph is in the Past Tense, and the second one, which consists of one sentence, is in the Present Perfect

Hi,

Use Simple Past for both paragraphs.

Thanks, Clive! Present Perfect would be totally wrong or might be possible in this particular context?

Hi,

Just seems wrong to me, unless there is some special kind of context.

Yeah, to me actually also. I think there should be a sequence of tenses. Thanks again!

Would be nice to hear what others have to say!

What if to write the first paragraph in Present Simple and the second one in Present Perfect? Then it would be correct?

For example,

A new module is designed, constructed and tested. The results are written down. And some other sentences in the Present Simple.

And then this sentence:

The investigation has been performed at the Institut

Stick to the simple past, as Clive suggested.
