Abstract

Hello everyone,

A friend of mine has just asked me to give him a hand translating an abstract and I must admit I'm having a hard time here. I was wondering if you could help me revise it. I know some fragments sound odd.

A financial analysis to cocoa-teak and cocoa-abarco plantations, alongside that of cassava corn and plantain, was conducted at four sites in Colombia: Santa Rosa del Sur (Bolivar), Rionegro (Santander), El Carmen (Santander), and Muzo (Boyacá). Yields were determined by allometric equations for wood and by grain production indices and corn production indices for cocoa. The prices used correspond to national and/or regional market reports. The analysis was projected for a 15-year period. Criteria such as the net present value (NPV) and internal rate of return (IRR) were utilized to evaluate the profitability and desirability of each agroforestry system. In parallel with the cash flow measurement and criteria assessment, Monte Carlo simulations were employed to establish risk scenarios at the four sites. Verification of financial feasibility in respect of projected time was conducted. It was discovered that only the teak plantations harvested in double-furrow and single-furrow in Muzo and abarco in single-furrow in Rionegro are prone to adverse scenarios and probability that initial investment may not be recouped.

Thank you in advance

Thank you very much for your valuable help. What I meant was "cassava-corn and plantain." only two items. As for your second question, it was meant that I was also looking at plantations that grew these crops. And again, thank you.
