Abroad Internship letter

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in completing a four month internship in your company. Being a second year’s student at the (college name) College in (city), I am looking for an internship within a landscape office. This internship is planned for February 2010 and will last for a period of 20 weeks.

My name is (name) and I am a student at the (college name) College in (city), this college is highly recommended within the Netherlands and western Europe. I have been interested in this field since I was fourteen. It has been made clear to me that I want to grow in this field and that I want to become specialized in green environments within great urban structures.

I am searching abroad for an internship in a multicultural environment, likewise to ours in the Netherlands. I am also searching for a new experience in a larger city with more residents. While searching on the internet I came across many candidate companies but (company naam) sounded the most interesting. I am interested in your company because you have the modern vision I am looking for and the portfolio you showed on the internet has several similarities to my vision and way of designing.

The internship will be twenty weeks. This will be from February 2010 until July 2010. I am confident that I will be an active, open minded and useful member to your team, willing to contribute to projects during my internship. Hopefully I will be able to get a feeling of many design aspects and communication types which happen when a project takes place.

My resume, enclosed for your reference, contains additional information on my experience and skills. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss my candidacy with you.
