above her station

In a dictionary entry for STATION is an example sentence:

She was definitely getting ideas above her station.

where STATION means a person's social position.

But again this sentence's meaning is not graspable to me. Could you tell me what it means?

1. She has come up with some new ideas that can be carried out by people who are senior to her in a company.

OR?

2. She has great ambition to climb up the social ladder.
