About [Who is that?]

Hi,

I need to be certain as to [Who is that?]

Could any native speaker help me?

Thank you very much in advance.

The question wants to know that man can recognizes whom.

So, [that] is the derivation of [who].

And [that] is stressed in speech to show the meaning.

And the answer to the question----[It is her.]

(my version) = She is the same as it.

= She belongs to it.

So, [it] is stressed in speech to show the meaning.

Hi JohnParis,

Thank you in response to me.

The question is due to different stress patterns giving different meanings and logical language.

For example:

1.{ to whom it may concern} and {no pain no gian};

their stress pattern and pitch and the logic of language are the same as eatch other;----connected with whom, it may concern / connected with no pain

In English - although in certain instances you would stress certain words in a sentence to give emphasis - you don't really need to stress any words in any sentence in order for the meaning of the sentence to get across to the listener. If in doubt about which words to stress in a sentence, don't stress any words, and the meaning will still get across to the listener.
