About when to add "s"

Hi, Take this sentence as example: "Investigators have to respect human rights and learn new technology so as to achieve the tasks more effectively." I am not sure why need to add a "s" to right and task. If I can also use "technologies" in this sentence?
Thank you a lot of answering my question.

Hi Shawtime; "Human rights" is a set phrase. Task is made plural by adding an -s. But " achieve tasks " is not quite right.

Hi Shawtime;

"Human rights" is a set phrase.

Task is made plural by adding an -s.

But "achieve tasks" is not quite right. We do tasks or perform tasks.

Can I also use "technologies" in this sentence? - yes, in fact, it would be preferred.
