about what to focus on?

"Sometimes your professor will provide hints about what to focus on."

In this sentence, can I change the underlined part to about on what to focus? or,
on what they should focus?

If not, how many ways are there to rephrase it? And what would those be?

Thank you so much in advance.

... about what you [should / could / might] focus on. Nothing else comes to mind.
