I think you want to use the word "care" rather than bother? To bother is to make someone upset or worried.

I care for you
I care about you

Both of these are correct.

I was going to suggest 'worry', which would best be used with 'about'.

Yes worry works as well. I thought of care as some of my students confuse bother and care. Saying that some of them confuse the three.
