Question

Not many have heard this I belive, This is from where the Hindusm born and took lot of changes to called as Hindu. We can discuss.

I had done this posting some time back.
actually, 'hindu is not the religion, when aryavart was invaded by yavanas and they could not pronounce 's' of sindhu' they made it 'hindu - river - and people residing in the area were known as 'hindu'. otherwise 'vedic religion' would be the correct word for 'hindu religion' and vedas basically don't preach on how to worrship, but it is teaching us a way of life - how to live our life within the parameters of humanity.
So this is my understanding of religion - no religion teaches us to kill anybody, harm or hurt anybody - this is the basis of every religion - love, peace and friendship - can anyone deny this ?

Let me go little further in this :

there are four vedas - Rigved, which is first. followed by Samved,Yajurved and Atharvved. All these four vedas give you the information about univers.

I would like to quote from a book " Vedanta is systematic and formulated knowledge of life and living. It reveals your real self.Explains your true nature and your relationship with the world. You are essentially a divine no matter what you appear to be - a sinner or a saint. Divinity is the core of your personality. Divinity is your real self. Vedanta helps you to unfold your divinity. To gain the knowledge of your intrinsic Self.With this knowledge you live a life of perfect harmony, peace and bliss."

And this is the basics of all the religion "to know your real self". right !

How does this born.

This is the only reliegion without a name.
This seems to be deficiate in the religion to some people(particularly to Hindu's).
Why they hadnt thought of giving a name to the religion. There were no religions that time. And might have thought no need to give a name when there is only one.

Founder:

Looks like another deficiate.

Its neither Vyas (Founder of Hindu), nor Lord Krishna (Who gave us Bhagvadgita), they said, Vedas exist before them.
Rishis gave us Vedic Mantras, we can call them as founders of this religion.
But again, themself( rishis who gave the vedic mantras) says, "We havent, composed mantras. When we sat meditating with our minds under control, the mantras were perceived by us in space. Indeed we saw them (hence the term mantra-drastas). ".

All sounds originate in space. From them arose creation. According to science, the cosmos was produced from the vibrations in space. By virtue of their austerities the sages had the gift of seeing the mantras in space, the mantras that liberate men from this creation. The Vedas are apauruseya (not the work of any human author) and are the very breath of the Paramatman in his form as space. The sages saw them and made a gift of them to the world.

If we know this truth, we have reason to be proud of the fact that we do not know who founded our religion. In fact we must feel happy that we have the great good fortune to be heirs to a religion that is eternal, a religion containing the Vedas which are the very breath of the Paramatman

Here's an attempt to answer at least a few of your questions. These are rough and ready answers, but, I think, essentially correct.

The six Darshanas are: Samkhya, Yoga, Nyaya, Vaisheshika, (Purva) Mimamsa, Uttara Mimamsa (Vedanta).

Samkhya and Yoga have the same basic ontology, based on the duality of Purusha and Prakriti. Purusha is pure spirit and Prakriti is the realm of natural phenomena made up of three gunas: sattva (consciousness, equilibrium), rajas (dynamism, activity, passion), and tamas (inertia,immobility). The goal of both is liberation for Purusha, which has misidentified itself with Prakriti. It is this misidentification which constitutes bondage. Purusha realizing its true identity as spirit constitutes liberation. Samkhya is more theoretical in nature, whereas Yoga is a practical method, involving practices such as detachment, restraint of the breath,concentration, etc. for reaching liberation. Samkhya is believed by many to be atheistic-~~though it is probably better to characterize it as non~~ committal on the issue of the existence of ***. Yoga affirms the existence of Ishvara and commends meditation on the attributes of Ishvara as a method for reaching liberation.

Nyaya and Vaisheshika also have the same basic worldview, but differ in their emphases. Nyaya is basically concerned with logic and the valid standards for establishing a philosophical proof. Vaisheshika is a kind of science, interested in enumerating the types of
entities making up the world (atoms, souls, qualities, universals and particulars, etc.).

Purva Mimamsa (often called simply "Mimamsa") is the old orthodox Brahmanical system for interpreting the karma kanda, or action portion of the Vedas: the proper performance of Vedic rituals, how these rituals lead to their results, etc. It is the source of such
doctrines as the eternality of the Vedas and the perfection of Sanskrit.

Uttara Mimamsa, more commonly called Vedanta, is concerned with the jñana kanda of the Vedas--the Upanishads. Its main interest is the realization of Brahman. It is divided into many schools of thought, the three most well-known of which are Advaita, Vishishtadvaita, and Dvaita.

There are literally hundreds of Upanishads, but most of these are regarded as authoritative only by particular Hindu sects. One traditional number given for the Upanishads is 108. The Upanishads generally regarded as the "principle" Upanishads are the Brihadaranyaka, Chandogya, Taittiriya,Aitareya, Kaushitaki, Kena, Katha, Isha, Shvetashvatara, Mundaka, Prashna, and Mandukya. The Brihadaranyaka and Chandogya Upanishads are both vast,and probably the oldest, and cover a wide range of topics. The Kena raises the question, "Who is the seer who sees? Who is the hearer who hears?"-- i.e. what is the Self? The Katha Upanishad contains a famous dialogue between Nachiketa and Yama (Death) and is concerned mainly with rebirth and liberation. The Isha Upanishad, with which most traditional collections begin, is an invocation of Ishvara. The Shvetashvatara is theistic and concerned with Shiva, and generally holds the same position in the Shaiva faith that the Bhagavad-Gita
does in the Vaishnava faith. The Mandukya is a reflection on the syllable OM (AUM) and the 4 levels of consciousness (waking, dreaming, dreamless sleep, and samadhi).

I'm not sure how to answer this. This is a vast literature.

You've pretty much listed them. RajYoga and AshtangaYoga are one and
the same, and refer to Patañjali's system. There is also Hatha Yoga,
which is an auxiliary to Patañjali's yoga--the system of physical
postures (asanas conducive to meditation (and misidentified by most
Westerners with Yoga as
such).

> 5. Names of all Puranas.

Six Vaishnava Puranas: Vishnu, Naradiya, Bhagavata, Garuda, Padma,
Varaha
Six Shaiva Puranas: Matsya, Kurma, Linga, Shiva, Skanda, Agni
Six Brahma Puranas: Brahma, Brahmanda Brahmavaivarta, Markandeya,
Bhavishya,
Vamana

And many, many others too numerous to list.

I assume you mean the 4 Samhitas. There are 4 stages of Vedic
literature:
The Samhitas, Brahmanas, Aranyakas, and Upanishads.

The Samhitas are: The Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, and Atharva
Veda.

The Rig Veda is made up of what, on a superficial reading, appear to
be hymns to nature deities, such as Indra, Agni, Varuna, Surya, and
Soma, but which are seen by many as having deeper, symbolic and
esoteric spiritual meanings.

The Yajur Veda organizes the hymns of the Rig Veda as they would be
recited in the context of particular rituals (like the Agnihotra or
the Ashvamedha).

The Sama Veda sets these hymns to music as they would be chanted in
actual rituals (yajña).

The Atharva Veda, thought by many scholars to be later, is made up of
numerous prayers, philosophical reflections, and what at least
appear to be magical spells for the attainment of specific this-
worldly ends.

Below mentioned book is worth reading. (well, its my opinion ). I have seen the lecture presented by Professor Nader on tv. and its amazing, the way he has done the comparision of human brain with the vedic literature. if you can manage a copy for yourself, do read, this book may answer many questions. let me tell you i don't subscribe to the everything told by maharshi, but certain things like this book one cannot afford to ignore either.
