About those of

When reading a book, I found this sentence.

"The company also saves money because the space requirements of the more open work areas take less square footage than a cubicle plan with aisles."


I think it needs "those of" between 'than' and 'a cubicle'

"The company also saves money because the space requirements of the more open work areas take less square footage than those of a cubicle plan with aisles."
