about this sentence

Hi there.
I have a question about below sentence.

You'll never know the way it tears me up inside to see you

I don't know how to interpret these mean,
' the way' , ' to see you '
and why do I use this word, 'to' ?

Seeing you tears me up inside (i.e. causes me emotional distress).

You will never know (understand) how that feels.

The use of "to" is similar to the use in "How does it feel to win the lottery?", for example.

thank you for your help. but still I didn't understand about using the 'to'. mmm.... is this sentence similar to this meaning.. like " How does it feel when you won the lottery? ". and any advice would be appreciate in advance.
