Hi Vincent, I don't remember the last time I spoke this way or heard anyone speak this way. 00 would almost automatically say 'eight pm'. I associate this system mainly with the military and with airline tickets and written schedules.

Hi Vincent,

I don't remember the last time I spoke this way or heard anyone speak this way. I think most people who read something like 20.00 would almost automatically say 'eight pm'. I associate this system mainly with the military and with airline tickets and written schedules.

Like Clive pointed out, this system is more commonly used in the military. So don't say that unless you are a soldier in a mission.
