About the shareholder meeting

I watched the Tesla's shareholder meeting on youtube.
There is a thing I was really surprised.
Elon Musk, the president of Tesla, showed up and make a speech in T-shirts.
Shareholder meeting is quite official and in Japan(I'm Japanese) all of participants from the company ,of course, including a president should be formally dressed.
So I was really wondering weather it is normal thing in the U.S..
Are there many presenters who attend official meeting in informal attires in the U.S.?

I appreciate it if you give me your opinion.

Thank you.

S.? It depends on the type of company, its management, and its company culture. Start-ups, venture companies, e-companies and new-technology companies often have younger executives with more liberal dress codes.
