"US dollars ten thousand" is incorrect but "ten thousand US dollars" or "ten thousand dollars, US" are acceptable alternatives. Just be sure that you don't use pluralise the cardinal number (e.g. thousand not thousands, hundred not hundreds); 'dollar' is what becomes plural.
