About the mice - 1

Can I say,

(i) Long ago, there were many cats. The mice thought of / about ways to escape from the cat.

(ii) Long ago, there lived a group of mice in a small mouse hole of a house. They wanted to discuss about the ways to escape from the scary cat.

(iii) There lived a group of mice / There lived four fat mice (in a small hole). / There was a group of mice who lived in a hole.

(iv) One day, the head mouse gathered the other mice / all the mice for a meeting at the hole.

(v) The mice gathered together and decided to have a meeting. / They gathered at the hole and started meeting.
