About the incident - robbers

Can I say,

Peter was going to work. He drove his car out to the driveway. He then got out to close his house gate.

When he went back to his car, two men approached him. One of the two men pushed Peter with great effort. His partner jumped into the car and both of the men drove it away.

Peter then called using his mobile phone. He then gave the particulars of the robbers. He also gave the police the licence plate number. Two days later, the robbers were arrested and was sent to / into jail.
