About the girl how to make sandwiches

Can I say,

Susan is a clever girl. Last Sunday, she was hungry while waiting for his mother came back from work. She wanted to make some tuna sandwiches.

Firstly, she prepared the ingredients. Then, she cut the onion and cucumber into slices. After that, she mixed all the ingredients in a bowl.

Lastly, she spread the filling into the bread. Finally, she finished up making the tuna sandwiches. Then, she ate the sandwiches happily.
