Can I say,
John is a fisherman. He and his family live in a small town. His small hut is made of attap and planks, and built on stilts. He gets up early before the sun rises to leave for the open sea in his boat. Usually, he goes fishing alone.
He wears a big straw hat to protect his head from the hot sun.
