About [the definition of need]

Hi,

[need] = the condition in which something necessar, desirable, or very useful is wanted;

I try to apply it to three sentences.

1. There's a growing need for new housing in this area.

= There's a growing condition in whcih something that is necessary for new housing is wanted in this area.

In this sentece [something] is not pinted out, but we know [something]concerned with a law / rule of housing.

2. The doctor says I am in need of a holiday.

= The doctor says I am in condition of a holiday which is necessary for my health.

3. Children need milk.

= Children have a need of milk that is necessary for life.

Could any native speaker tell correct or not?

Thank you for your assistance.

No, that is not what the sentence means. The housing rule is a topic outside the meaning of the sentence.

Hi,

In [a need for new housing], means [a need] in which new housing is brought into being.

In [More Action Needed for "Right Kind of Recovery" ], means [more action] in which "Right kind of Recovery" is brought into being.

Could it be in this way to explain?

Thank you for your assistance.
