about the definite article

Hi,

I need to add a couple of lines to a release note (for a new sw product)…. and I am having problems with the name “The new iPod”… meaning not sure how to handle the definite article in this name…

Which of the following versions is good (or passable, at least)?

(The latest update…)
(1) supports iPad, iPad2 and The new iPad
(2) supports iPad, iPad2 and new iPad

Or maybe you can suggest better wording?
Thank you so much
