About "thanked for .."

Can I say,

(a) He thanked Peter for helping him.

(b) He thanked Peter for his help.

(c) He thanked Peter for his helpfulness.

All three choices are good, but a and b are the most common. Choice c would be common if you changed "thanked" to something like "praised".
