About "still".

What should I better say : "I don't know if he is 'still' here. or "I don't know if he 'still' is here"?
Thank you.
Have a good day.

I don't know if he is still here definitely sounds better. Plus, this version seems more natural, since in speech you typically say he's instead of he is - and when you say the first version, you can say: I don't know if he's still here, whereas if you try to say the second one, you can't connect he and is.

I'm not sure the second choice is actually wrong, but the first certainly sounds much more natural.
