About spitting.
I'd like to know an expression about a situation I'm going to explain below.
When we talk, sometimes, spit comes out of our mouth by mistake. [flying small particles of salava(or spittle?)]
What do you say about this situation?
and what do you say when you say sorry about this situation? (eg, sorry for spitting?) <= I don't know if it is correct, because I think that spitting is a deliberately action, related to our intention.
But, if we say sorry about that situation like sorry for spitting, don't we say sorry for flying spittle that is done on purpose?

[I think this occurs often when one is speaking quickly and for an extended period of time, when swallowing hasn't occured as it normally would.]

Here are a few more comments.
In my experience with adult immigrants who come to Canada, some of them deliberately spit in public (usually outside, but occasionally in a waste basket in the classroom) because in their culture that is acceptable. I try to explain that Canada is different.

It has long been common to see actual signs in Paris: "Défense de cracher par terre." I'm not sure who the offenders have been all these years.
But yes, it seems to be common for low-hung-trousered guys to do a lot of spitting. Again, I'm not sure how that is supposed to add to their macho aura.
