about "rain"

Do I say,

1 The houses were flooded after rain / after the rain.

2 The cat is trembling in rain / in the rain.

3 The village was flooded because of rain / of the rain.

4 The boy was wet in rain / in the rain.

5 Peter's body was wet in the rain / in rain.
