About "for there to be"

I am told that "there being" follows a preposition except "for". After the preposition "for", we should use "for there to be". eg. "They planned for there to be a family party."

But what about the following two sentences:

1. I am sorry for there being some errors in my post.

2. As for the reason for there being no final diagnosis to the suspected case, Hall said it was very difficult diagnose SARS.

These two expressions sound normal to me. I say them , and Google gives -

for there being 144,000 hits

for there to be 2 million hits
