About make a change

Hi teachers~.

I am wondering if it's ok to say "make a change" instead of a word 'edit.'

If it's ok, what is needed after make a change ?

Ex) I would like to make some changes in your sentence? (For your sentence/ for your writlng/to some sentences...)
