Vocabulary

about less

Hi teachers,

I cannot understand the sentence below.

If, in the fictional ending, Conrad was obliquely purging some guilt at having taken his 'standing jump' from Poland, there may be a less personal purgation too.

I don't know if there's a little personal purgation there or not.
What does 'there may be a less personal purgation too" mean? And then there's 'too' at the end of the sentence.

Thanks

  • This second purgation does not relate as much to Conrad's own life, so we might say that it is not so 'personal' as the first purgation .
