About "hell"

I've seen the word "hell" many times ,but I don't konw clearly about how to use it yet. Sometimes it goes after "the",and sometimes they are separated. Can anybody explain it for me?Thanks a lot.

It is a curse word, so I avoid using it. It is used in the Christian religion, where **** is that fire-filled place where bad people go and are eternally tortured after they die. It has been overused as an expletive and has lost a lot of its shock value as a curse word, but still it is not polite..

  • EDIT: Ray is correct - you often hear "what (the ****) is that noise", "where (the ****) is Mary, she's always late", "who (the ****) are you to order me around", "why (the ****) do they do this crazy stuff".
  • So the pattern is: interrogative word + "the ****" + rest of sentence.
