About "had Vpp"

Hi,
which sentence does anyone think makes sense and is grammatically correct?

"I had a long hot shower when I had done exercises."
"I had done exercises when I had a long hot shower."

What I actually want to mean is "After I had done exercises, I had a long hot shower."

"When" does not seem natural in the sentences with "done."
"When" can be used with a verb that has a stronger distinct time point, such as "finish".

They all have basically the same meaning, but the first two are unnecessarily abstract, and it's true that doneis a bit of a strong word. It's best to keep things simple and clear.
