I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to ask such a question here or not, so if I'm not allowed please just ignore this post.
I have a problem in understanding a sentence which I will mention its source at the end of my message.
The sentence reads:
The improvement becomes much larger when both the chemical process and the way it is carried out are varied, not giving as established what found in previous investigations and having a predetermined maximum efficiency as the only determining facet.
Is the highlighted part grammatically wrong?
It seems wrong to me, although perhaps I just don't have a good understanding of what he is talking about. Clive
