About get down on somebody

Hi teachers~

I am wondering if GET DOWN ON SOMEBODY is commonly used instead of 'keeping finding fault with somebody else for no reason.'

Thank you~~

I wouldn't say so. There is an expression "to be down on somebody", meaning to treat them negatively in some way, criticise them, etc. From this, "get down", in the sense of "become" is possible, I suppose, but it is not something that I recall hearing people say.
