Can I say,

(a) Last Sunday was sunny. Mr Tan was going (out) for / to work early. He drove his car and got out from /of his house.

(b) Before he went to work, he came down from his car to close the gate of his house.

(c) Before he drove (his car), he got out and closed the gate.



(d) Before going out to drive his car, he closed his house gate / house's gate / the gate of his house.



(e) He drove his car out from / of his house. Then, he got out / off the car and closed the gate.



(f) He drove his car out from / of his house and got out /off to close the gate.



(g) He drove his car out and got out / off from his car and went to closed the gate.



(h) When he got out (of his house), he closed the gate of his house.

(b) Before he drove away, he got out of his car to close the gate.

(c) Before he drove away, he got out and closed the gate.

The others should be discarded.

Why don't we use "got off"? are there same in meaning?

Actually, I want to say,

"He got off his car first, then he went to close the house gate".

Can?

Cannot. We get out of cars, not off them.
