About driving

0 Hi. Sometimes the car engine dies when we're not using the right gear etc. I heard people said 'the engine dies off', but is this correct? What's the most suitable word to use? Thanks... 0-

0 You could also say "the engine dies" -- but not "dies off," at least not in American English. 0-
