I read the latest news on CNN's web, but some sentences confused me. Could anyone tell me, the word "power" used in the below sentences is a noun or verb? Does it mean Narendra Modi or someone else would bring power to Modi?
"Narendra Modi, the leader of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, claimed victory as India's next Prime Minister on Friday, bringing to power a man whose controversial past at one point led the United States to deny him a visa."
Your help would be highly appreciated.
