About certain verbs

Hi,

Which sentence is the best?

Sentence 1: The Titanic has luxuries that ships had never had.

OR

Sentence 2: The Titanic has luxuries that ships have never had.

*I would be inclined to say Sentence 2.

What are your thoughts on this?

Since the Titanic is buried beneath the waters, I would be inclined to use the past tense , and since the Titanic is a ship, I would add "other" to the sentence: The Titanic had luxuries that other ships have never had.

It depends on whether the luxury of the Titanic has yet been surpassed, MVB. If it has now been surpassed, use past perfect; if it hasn't. use present perfect. Adding 'other' is a good idea.
