About [believe in]

Hi,I am in need of a certain knowledge about the defination of the [in].I have the understanding with it and could any native speaker tell me correct or not?In {I believe in God.}, I do believe that activity is surrounded or contained by God. Because I vary according to Him and I am supported by Him. So, any one or thing which is trusted by us, it must be the one or thing which is able to be the thing to have us do trust. The thing / one is trusted by us that is a dependable thing. Thank you for your assistance.
