Being as a noun is used in human being, alien being. etc. to mean 'living creature'. Otherwise, it is used like the -ing form of other verbs (coming, dancing, having)--

As a part of the progressive: You are being silly. You are sitting on my hat.
As a nonfinite verb: Being hungry, I ate her sandwich
