About an incident -

Can I say,

It was raining outside last night. There was lightning and thunder. Peter was watching television at home. He watched his favourite cartoon.

Then, Peter's mother told him to switch off the television, but he refused to his mother's advices because the movie was very interesting.

A flash of lightning struck the television. Peter screamed in fear. Next time, Peter will not watched television when it was raining.
