about a usage of whether cluase

1) I want to ask whether he has right to mention the constitutional reform , whether he has followed it himslef, and whether he is flowing in the right direction, indeed.

I thought whether in this sentence is redundant, so I omitted the second and third whether.

2) I want to ask whether he has right to mention the constitutional reform, he has followed it himself, and he is flowing in the right direction, indeed.

Can this read like first sentence?

Hello Ahn, Yes, you could omit the whethers; though with quite long clauses, it might be more usual to retain them. But I would rephrase your sentence slightly: 2) I want to ask whether he was right to mention the constitutional reform, he has followed it himself, and he is indeed going in the right direction. All the best, MrP

Thank you, MrPedantic Emotion: smile

By the way, does 'flowing in the right direction' sound odd?

I would do the same as Mr. P. did, but note that you can also omit the two extra "he"s.

... whether he ..., has followed ..., and is indeed flowing ... (I'd just use "going" in the right direction.)

OK, I'll drop two extra 'he' and use 'going' instead of 'flowing'. Thank you!^^
