About a small accident

Can I say,

Peter is a 12-year-old boy. Yesterday was his birthday. His father bought him a new bicycle as a birthday present. Then, he tried to cycle on the main road.

Suddenly, a truck passed by beside him. He felt very frightened and lost the balance of the bicycle. He fell down and injured his right leg.

A passer-by woman saw this incident. She quickly took Peter to the clinic nearby. After that, he promised he never cycle on the main road again.
