About a poetry forum (please help me to correct any grammar mistakes)

I do comment unless is so bad that is not worth the time. I hate when I see a very low rates and no comment, There is this poem that has all 7-8-9-10 rates and a 1 rate with no comment, I am sure that was revenge. How childish.
What brings me a thought. Why do some people, like me, have this notion that what we write is good? A poem, a song, a movie, etc. What makes these things good? Let's take for example a low budget movie like Taken or Witch Blair project, this movies have no extraordinary editing, acting, etc, yet both were succesful. Taken is one of my favourite movies, and I see how bad the screen play was written, but for me is a ten. For me, success in art, any kind of art is about liking, and it is pure geniality when someone can convey his art and be accepted by a lot of people.
Poetry is not a popular art, and is reserved only for people who really love the sound of words written with elegance, or are fluid and original.
What happens here is that ninety something percent of the people only come to GP either to read (which is ok) or just post a couple of poems. And they don't participate, nor help others; also, there are people who post, you care to comment, and they don't bother to write a thanks note.
In the workshops, if you go and see, you will notice that there are no more than 15 active workshoppers out of 10000+ suscribed members.
I believe this people do not take poetry seriously, why should they get high grades for worthless art?
If I could convince everybody (meaning the people who rate and are GP's active participants) to consider how participant a person is as part of what they rate, I would.
It annoys me when I rate a poem and then go see his/her profile page and I discover that this person has no karma, which means he/she doesn't care for others' poetry and is not participating.
On the other hand, I do receive a lot of 9-10 ratings, which I know I don't deserve. But I know this ratings are given mainly because the person who is rating has a sense of guilt by giving low rates or because they like me somehow. And there could be this subconscienceness feeling that if one gives a high rate he will recieve one as well.
Again we go back to the real reason behind rating. Popularity which is the way of the world.
