About a Playstation 4

This is about a Playstation 4

I want to maximize the most out of my purchase. Are there are ways to improve the longevity of your batteries lifespan, if you don't take care of your batteries or over charge it, it can significantly cut the life span of your battery.

1. Is it correct to say 'Maximize the most out of my purchase'?
2. Is lifespan needed or is it implied? How do native speakers say 'improve the longevity of your batteries lifespan'?
3. Is 'cut' correct in the last sentence?

To charge your controller you have to plug it into the playstation 4 via USB,
How would you naturally ask the question?
Does the PS4 controller charge to a wall outlet or only to your Playstation 4?

Thanks
