About a noun + for someone or something

Hi,

Could any native right my ideas?

1. He has an eye for beauty / a good idea. ----[for] = that eye as beauty regards;

2. I have no ear for English. -----[for] = that ear as English regards;

3. Don't mess with him. He believes in an eye for an eye. ----[for] = in an eye in exchange for an eye; means if he lose an eye for another, he must want the eye of another person in exchange.
