Can I say,

Peter is a hard-working window cleaner. Last Sunday morning, it was sunny. He was cleaning the windows of the tall buildings in the city. While he was cleaning the window of a bank, suddenly he saw a robbery was in the bank / saw a robbery happened in the bank. He quickly telephoned the police station.

After a few minutes, the police arrived at the scene (of incident). They successfully caught the robber at / in the end.The manager was grateful and gave him a reward.
