Can I say,

(a) Peter's father bought a new bicycle on his birthday. He was very excited.

(b) He rode his new bicycle around the neighbourhood happily.

(c) Suddenly, his bicycle had a puncture / was punctuared. He had to push his bicycle home. He was very upset.
