Abjure definition
Hello,
I was a little confused by the following definition; Abjure-to promise publicly that you will give up or reject a belief or way of behaving. Do the verbs to give up and to reject refer to both a belief and a way of behaving.
I thought give up referred to a way of behaving while reject referred to a belief.

I wouldn't say that's narrowly confined to belief.
