Ability

Hi there.

According to my grammar book, you cannot use 'could' as to show the action 

which happened only once like this.

1. She could get out of the rubbles in the accident 10 days ago.

The book says that you should use 'was able to'  instead in this case.

1-1. She was able to get out of the rubbles in the accident 10 days ago.

Any suggestion?

"could" infers a possibility. ie She could have got out of the rubbles if she had... " It indicates that the action was not done.

"could" infers a possibility. ie She could have got out of the rubbles if she had... (done something)....." It indicates that the action was not done.
1.1 is correct. ie she did get out of the rubbles.
