Abetment to or of

Hi,

In Indian penal law, there is a thing called 'abetment of suicide.'

But is it abetment of or abetment to? Which is right or most common?

Thanks.

I think you would have to ask an Indian lawyer. If you want an answer from a random American, "abet" is rare outside the expression "aiding and abetting", and that you only hear on TV cop shows. I would use "of" and not "to", although a case could be made for "in".
